Biography
Dean was introduced to korfball at the BKA’s National Youth Day during the summer of 1994 aged 11 years. Over the next 5 years Dean moved up through the junior ranks winning a host of league titles with the Under 12’s, Under 14’s and Under 16’s.

Aged 16 Dean was selected by Mitcham’s senior coaches for Mitcham’s Europa Cup squad for the 2000 competition held in Papendrecht, Holland.

Dean has represented Great Britain at various Youth and European Championships at U16, U19 and U23 levels. Dean’s first Great Britain senior tournament was the World Championships in 2003, Rotterdam, Holland.

Since Dean’s selection for Mitcham’s 1st/2nd team in 2000, he has not looked back. It took Dean a few years to break into Mitcham’s first team, but since Mitcham’s Coach Colin Boys selected Dean in the first team during the 2003/04 National League season Dean has not looked back.

Dean has helped Mitcham’s Reserve team to 5 back-to-back League titles and has also won the league with Mitcham’s first team on 2 occasions. While Dean has been in the first team Mitcham have won the Europa Shield competition but success at the Europa Cup has so far eluded the player… something that Dean hopes to put right in the very near future… .
