Ireland International joins Mitcham

Mitcham Korfball Club are pleased to confirm that Ireland International, Laura Blazey’s transfer has been completed.

Blazey who started her korfball career at Oxford University has played for a number of clubs, including Manchester University, Manchester Warriors and Cambridge Tigers. Most recently Blazey has played for the last three season in yellow for local rivals; Bec Korfball Club.

Laura Blazey told mitchamkorfball.co.uk: "I predict it will be a really good season for Mitcham next year and it will be great to be able to be a part of that"

Blazey represented Ireland at the 2009 European Bowl and at the 2010 European Championships.

Blazey is the third female player to sign for Mitcham Korfball Club, following the arrival of Heather Lymburn and Stephanie Allen. However, Mitcham’s Haven Sports Korfball League squad has also lost the services of Emmelien van der Scheer (returned to Holland), Carina Lamelas (injury) and Neala Brennan (transfer request submitted).
