Mitcham and England youth International, Carina Lamelas shocked team mates on 2nd August - announcing that she will be taking a break from korfball for the foreseeable future.

Lamelas, 18, hopes to continue her studies at university after a brief period travelling.

The overriding factor is due to a long standing injury the player has suffered from.

Lamelas played throughout the previous season with numerous knee problems and injuries. She has now decided, quite rightly to focus on her rehabilitation.

Everyone at Mitcham Korfball Club wishes Carina all the best for the future.
