Mitcham Korfball Club have accepted an invitation from the International Korfball Federation (IKF) to participate in the 2010 edition of the Europa Shield tournament.

The tournament is currently scheduled to take place on 22nd and 23rd January 2009.

It is understood that a club team from Germany has stepped forward to host the competition.

Mitcham won the Europa Shield in 2004 and most recently finished 3rd in last years event.
