Unfortunately Mitcham had to withdraw their under 11 side from this year's National Youth Day tournament at the 11th hour. The club's under 16 team did still attend the tournament.
The under 16 side was made up of players of different abilities ranging from players that have only been playing korfball for a few months to England junior Internationals.
The day started early for the under 16 team and the club's junior coach, Peter Teague meeting at the venue at 09:30. Mitcham's first match was against Scorpions, the game finished in a draw with both sides scoring two goals each.
Mitcham finished the day in 9th place.
Mitcham Korfball Club would like to thank the following members for helping at National Youth Day, without whom the club would not have been able to enter a team: Peter Teague who coached the team for the entire day, Dean Woods and Dave Synott who helped coach and referee for part of the day.
The club would also like to thank the parents who supported the team on the day and of course the players!
