Mitcham Korfball Club

With the exception of Kingfishers, who Trojans beat 16-14, the defending league champions have so far convincingly beaten all of their opponents in the Haven Sports Korfball League.

Before the now regular Tuesday evening fixture between the arch rivals, Mitcham had so far dropped a total of five points after loosing the previous two matches against Nottingham and Kingsfisher and drawing the opening match of the 2009/10 season against Epsom based Nomads.

The match began at a frantic pace with the first four shots scoring goals. 2-2. The remainder of the first half was played at a high intensity with mistakes being made by both sides. It was Trojans who went into the halftime break with a lead of 5 goals. 10-5.

Mitcham slowly worked their way back into the match during the second half by converting just a few of their many opportunities and keeping the pressure on the Trojans main attackers. If only Mitcham could convert more of their chances to goals!

With only minutes remaining on the scoreboard Mitcham's Ross Bower scored the equaliser, leveling the scores at 14-14. Neither team were able to score again. The points were shared. A fantastic result for Mitcham and their supporters...
